Hi Amazon and 'forum-ers' thanks for your continued response. i appreciate it. 1. I became an LPR in Oct.2009. I was working in a foreign country and was not ready to quit my job as yet. 2. I entered the US 2x/yr until Oct. 2011 when i came in to stay. 3. I got my first job in May 2012 for which i filed my first tax return early this year. Now i have to do the affidavit of support for my spouse. I have only one tax transcript. a part of the form requires information from the last 3 tax years!!! What do you guys think? should i go ahead with the 2012 tax transcript? I paid my taxes in the foreign country while i was there. should i use the information to file late "absentee" taxes before submitting the affidavit of support? PLEASE HELLLLLLLPPPPP!!!!

The sponsor must satisfy the consular officer that he/she has not given up his/her permanent residence in the United States to establish a residence abroad; i.e. he or she has maintained his/her principal residence in the United States with the intent to maintain that residence for the foreseeable future. Lawful Permanent Residents must further demonstrate that they have maintained their legal permanent residence status. The decision will be on a case by case basis. The following is a list of the types of employment, which is considered meeting the definition of "domiciled" in the United States, if the sponsor has been temporarily working outside the United States. The list also covers a sponsor who is the spouse or son/daughter of a person employed abroad in one of the listed professions. The list includes, but is not limited to employment by: the U.S. government, including the U.S. Armed Forces; an American Institution of research recognized as such by the Attorney General; an American firm or corporation engaged in whole or in part in the development of foreign trade and commerce with the United States or a subsidiary thereof; by a public international organization in which the U.S. participates by treaty or status; and a person who is performing the ministerial or priestly functions of a religious denomination having a bona fide organization with the United States who is temporarily stationed abroad pursuant to that calling of is engaged solely as a missionary by a religious denomination or by an interdenominational mission organization having a bona fide organization within the United States and is stationed to that calling. Topic: Contacted by NVC. But not ready as yet!!!

Hi guys, NVC contacted me by email.I am supposed to make online payment for affidavit of support and confirm my spouse's address before the can further process my case and schedule my interview. Problem is, my wife is due to leave my home country in a week and i dont want her to have to travel all the way back for her interview. When i contacted them, NVC requested for proof of her residence in the new country (permit for up to 6mths stay). I can only get that from immigrations when she arrives next week. Im just a bit worried we might lose our 'current' status by the end of the month. our PD is Nov. 29, 2012. [i][b]Does anyone know roughly how long it takes for NVC to schedule an interview after you fulfill their requirements? What are the odds of our getting an interview date before this year runs out? I called NVC and was told i would be informed when my case gets to them at which point i can make any changes to addresses. does that sound right? your thoughts please.

[biggrin] Hi guys, i was thrilled by the PD estimator and so decided to get on this very informative train[biggrin] My wife's I-130 was approved yesterday. our priority date is Nov. 29, 2013, so im guessing we are current as we speak, or at least in the next couple of months. The thing is, i just got a job in a neighboring country and have made plans for my wife to join me in October. I plan to keep entering the US every 5 months until my wife gets her visa. My questions are these: 1. Can her interview be moved from my home country to her new location (when she does relocate)? 2. From your experience, before her interview? Home country is Nigeria. 3. Should we continue her travel plans or should we just wait and see. Personally I am sick of waking up alone[sad] Your responses will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
