Hi, I would like to know the approval procedure when G-28 has been filed. When attorney has been designated as agent, won't the petitioner and beneficiary receive noa2 (is it only the attorney who receives the noa2)?

Exactly! While the VB is released one month in advance, processing dates are released one month (and even more) later :-(. Wish the VB and processing dates are in sync with each other.

Hi all, USCIS has released processing times at service centers as of April 30, 2013. For F2A category, California Service Center has moved to November 15, 2011 and Vermont Service Center to March 19, 2012. Source: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

Hi, I hit upon this piece of information posted by USCIS on their site. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=c3c7ca7c5fed9310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=e7801c2c9be44210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD (Source: USCIS website)

Topic: What is NOA2
Thanks JohnK. But the NOA I received does not have any numbers on it. The only NOA I received has I-797C on it and of course the PD. What does that mean? I presume there is no NOA1 and NOA2 in my case? Thanks in advance.

Topic: What is NOA2
Thanks for the reply Amazon. From what I understand in the reply, the NOA1 and NOA2 are applicable for spouses or fiancees sponsored by US Citizens and they are not applicable for spouses sponsored by legal permanent residents. Is that right?

Hi, thanks for the reply. Just wanted to get a fundamental doubt clarified - if the beneficiary is not in the US, is the I-485 step not there once PD becomes current? (As in, does the embassy in my country process my papers once my PD becomes current?)

Topic: What is NOA2
Hi, I would like to know what is NOA2? I see some users saying they are from F2A category and after their PD has become current, they are waiting for NOA2. Is there an NOA1 too? When are the applicants scheduled to receive these Notice of Actions?

Thanks for all the replies. Is the processing time at USCIS different from the time taken in the service center? Suppose, an individual's PD becomes current in August 2013 VB, he/she can file for I-485 any day starting from August 1, 2013 right? After that, is it 4 months at USCIS and then another 4 or 8 months at the service centers or is it 4 months in total for gc to be issued? Before that, one more question - once PD becomes current, does USCIS notify the applicants in email or phone or normal post intimating that we can go ahead and file I-485 or is it the applicant's prerogative to check for updates on USCIS website and file I-485? Are I-485s approved on a 'first come first serve' basis or are they approved in the chronological order of PDs? Further, regarding the I-485 application, I did go through the article provided. Can you please let me know approx. processing time at California Service Center? (The article mentions average I-485 processing time as 4 months in NSC and 8 months in TSC.) Since there is no I-485 inventory published for FB category, where and how can we look at figures for F2A applications/speed of clearance etc?
