@Harshil You can go through the average time taken for I-130 approval in this portal. On an average, it takes 5 to 7 years for I-130 F2B India to be approved and another 9 to 12 months time from I-130 approval to Embassy Interview. You have just begun. Possibly 2026/ 2027, you may see I-130 approved. Good Luck!

Dear Jahangir Brother, Please have patience. In my case, it took 5+ months for USCIS to move my case to NVC, despite mine was current for few months. I read that it took 4 to 6 months for many cases in 2020. Please continue to follow with NVC. Regards

Dear Jahangir Brother, Please check your I-130 approval to be sure that it is approved under F2B category. USCIS changes the category on their own to F1, if your petitioner/ sponsor's status changes from GC to Naturalized Citizen before I-130 approval. In that scenario, you as beneficiary can request for change in category from F1 to F2B by writing to NVC.

Dear Jahangir Brother, Please continue to chase NVC and USCIS, once in 2 weeks. Your sponsor has a right to petition to local congress man or woman and/or local senator and they can also take up with USCIS and NVC for speedy processing. In many cases, that approach works.

Dear Sahid, My understanding is that, under the new USCIS policy, an applicant who leaves a field blank will have their application or petition rejected as incomplete, even if the field is one that was not relevant to that individual's eligibility. As per my understanding, the new policy also covers form I-864 (affidavit support form). In my case, i am the only person to be sponsored by my father and he provided form I-864EZ, which was accepted by NVC.
