Hi Good day. First let me commend this site for being so informative. Thank you very much to whoever behind this. I am getting so excited with the news that F2A category will soon be current. But at the same time I am a bit confuse of what will really gonna happen. Here is my case scenario. My better half who is a GC holder filed for an F2A petition just last April 2013. We already received the Notice of Action (NOA1)with a PD of April 2013. The petition is under Vermont Service Center. According to USCIS website, processing times for this kind of petition under Vermont Service Center will take approximately 11-12 months processing. My questions are: 1.) What is the impact of a CURRENT F2A status to a newly filed case? 2.) Will the Vermont Service Center speed up their processing of petition filings once F2A becomes current, or we still have to wait for the 11-12 months processing timeline despite of status F2A being current? 3.) What are the chances of me being able to get the GC sooner? Thank you so much and looking forward for answers.
2.) Will the Vermont Service Center speed up their processing of petition filings once F2A becomes current, or we still have to wait for the 11-12 months processing timeline despite of status F2A being current?
It all depends on how many USCIS officers are working. If the volume of cases increases a lot, the processing time could increase little more than 11-12 months.
3.) What are the chances of me being able to get the GC sooner? Thank you so much and looking forward for answers.
USCIS will have to follow all established protocols and checks before approving cases. Hence everyone would have to wait for the processing time that they have listed on their website.

Let us say if the August 2013 bulletin makes F2A current. So can I file I485 in July 2013 itself or so I have wait till August 1 2013 to submit the form? What are the consequences if I travel for work visa stamping to Canada after filing the I485 in July or August first week? I am assuming that the change of status is not complete until I-130 is complete event if we file I-1485 concurrently.

If you travel outside US after filing I-485 but before getting AP card, USCIS will typically consider that you have abandoned I-485. Hence I would recommend waiting for AP card to arrive before traveling outside US. See question 4: http://www.murthy.com/2012/03/20/adjustment-of-status-consulor-processing-faqs/

Now I have different questions with scenario tha I am outside USA after submitting the AOS forms. My I-130 is pending with PD April 12 2013. The Vermont SC takes 11 months of processing time so it will be pending for another six months. But if the F2A becomes current in August and I submit the I-485, EAD and Advance Parole application and leave for Canada. What are the chances of getting a call for fingerprinting? Does this process happen when the I-130 is processed(approved)? Will they mail EAD and Advance Parole before the I-130 is processed ? Does the fingerprinting have to be complete to get the EAD and Advance Parole? I am going for visa interview and may be unforeseen delay. I do not want to miss the EAD and Advance Parole while being out of USA. It will be nice to know if these are just mailed out like OPT cards and do not require any interview or fingerprinting. I am very anxious. Sorry for multiple questions.

Amazon: Is fingerprinting a prerequisite for obtaining a fresh Advance Parole document? I know they do not ask for fingerprinting at the time of renewal of AP and EAD but mine will be fresh application. Thanks in advance.
What are the chances of getting a call for fingerprinting?
It is 100%. Fingerprinting is a required part of background security check. They will not waive off fingerprinting. Though once you get the fingerprint notice, you can reschedule it to a different date.
Does this process happen when the I-130 is processed(approved)?
It is independent.
Will they mail EAD and Advance Parole before the I-130 is processed ?
They could. These are based on i-485 filing and not I-130
Does the fingerprinting have to be complete to get the EAD and Advance Parole?
These are independent. If fingerprint is available, it will be added to EAD/AP card (though sometime they do not add it even if it is available).
I am going for visa interview and may be unforeseen delay.
