Collect photocopies of your civil documents (example: copy of your birth certificate, passport)

a) Go to our online Civil Documents page.

b) Enter your country in the box titled “Document Finder.”

c) Click the “Search” button.

d) Click through the gray buttons on the left (General Documents; Birth, Death or Burial Certificates; etc.) that list types of civil documents. Each gray button will explain how to get that document in your country.

e) Gather the documents that apply to you and make photocopies to send to NVC. Do not send original documents.
