  Topic: V-Visa
hello Amazon,

thank you for replying. the link you provided is not working for me. when i click on it it's telling me session is expired.

if the link you provided contains the language of the new bill with regard to the v-visa, i have already read that. my understanding is that the new bill refers to the old bill for eligibility requirements. the only thing the new bill does is that it adds to the number of categories the can benefit from this visa. i don't see anywhere in the new bill where it eliminates the old requirements and adds new requirements.

can you please tell me why you think the requirements have changed? or where i can find that information.

thank you.

Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding the v-visa requirements in the proposed immigration bill S.722
currently, the eligibility requirements for a v-visa are
1) petition pending for 3 years or more
2) the petition filed on or before December 21, 2000.

do you know if these two conditions will apply to the new categories included in the immigration reform bill?

if they are, then i don't see many people benefiting from this. with the exception of those who are from Mexico and Philippines, most petitions with priority dates of December 21, 2000 and before must have already become current.
