Guys, I had AOS interview at Newark,NJ on 10/29/2013. My husband is LPR and I am on F1. The IO was very friendly and he even didnt ask much questions besides the Y/N questions in form i-485. He then said our case is very easy and looks great. He said he is approving our case and took my i-94. Also he looked up for something (visa number i guess) in the computer and said it is not available. So he handed us a paper saying "our case was held for further review......". But he said i will be receiving my GC in 2-3 weeks. But it's been three days and i still see my case in "interview and testing". and This is somehow bothering me. What do you guys think? And any idea on how we can know if the visa number is available for my case or not/ or when will it be available? My PD is march 23, 2013 ans i-130 is already approved. Thanks

My situation is somewhat similar to yours. I'm also married to a LPR. I was interviewed last Thursday (Oct 24) and was told I was approved. The IO gave me two letters: One stating that I was approved and one explaining how to remove the conditions on the green card. Neither of them were signed. It's been a week now and no status change at all (no welcome letter in the mail either). Most people receive status updates right after the interview or 2 days after the latest... So I am also starting to worry the IO forgot about my case... Will wait another couple of weeks, and if nothing is received, I will make an Infopass.

Same here... I had AOS interview at Mt Laurel ,NJ on 10/29/2013. My husband is LPR and I am on H1. The officer looked up my case number and said all is fine except my I 130 has been transfered to Nebraska office and it is in transit and not approved yet.Once the form reaches Nebraska office he would request for that form to Mt Laurel local office and he will approve all(I-130,I-485). He said I should get the approval of the forms in a week's time and should get my GC in 2-3 weeks time. When I check my case status for I-130 online at USCIS site,it still says initial review. This is bothering me as well since I dont have clarity as to what is happening and what will happen. Thanks

Today morning I received another text saying that USPS has collected the mail that contains my card . The tracking shows Nov 29th as the expected delivery date .. Yay..I feel relieved. FYI: It took me almost 4 months after filing I-485 to get GC. Wish you guys all the best and hope you will get your GC ASAP.

Everest, thanks for the information. We had an interview at Newark yesterday, Nov 26 2013. The interview went fine but the officer mysteriously said that she wasn't sure if there was a visa available. Our PD is from May 2012. Also, unlike other people, we weren't given any paper indicating the decision or that the case was held for further review. In your case, you got a decision in almost exactly 3 weeks. I'm hoping it is the same for me. We had filed the 485 at the beginning of August 2013 as well.

Thank you, Everest. I also have an update. On Nov 25 (8 days after my Infopass appointment), I received the CPO e-mail, as well as the approval of forms I-130 and I-485. Now I'm justing waiting to get the e-mail confirming the card was mailed. Do schedule an infopass appointment if more than 3 weeks have passed since the interview and you haven't received any update on your case. Good luck to all of you!

Congratulations! Everest and R&m... I have been following this thread I had my interview November 6th, and am still waiting. Ill be scheduling an infopass by the end of this week (Dec 6th) if i dont hear anything. It will suck if we have to drive another 4.5 hrs to El Paso. Abdul... How did your info pass go, any news yet?

Thanks guys.. :) I am guessing the wait period varies depending upon the visa availabilty per respective country. And I also think they are now processing all cases those were filled in August 2013. You guys can check the processing times in USCIS website and see the cases that are being processed in your respective field offices. For instance, processing times for "Newark, NJ" field office for I-485 is April 2, 2013 as of now. However,if I were you, I would schedule an infopass appointment if I wouldnt get any update after until 4 weeks of interview. Good luck guys !!

Just to update all of you, I finally got an email today (12/11/13) that card production has been ordered. This is exactly 15 days after the interview in Newark. Finally!

Did infopass yesterday 6 weeks after my interview (November 6th)... Dont know if it was helpful or not but according to the Lady, she said they couldnt make a decision without my I-130 file. They recieved the file on November 29th but the case hasnt been assigned to an officer yet for another review even after 21days of my file getting to their office and she doesnt know when they will get to it. I politely told her my husband and I had to spend 9 hours (both ways to USCIS office) on the road yesterday and we will like definite answers because we cant make infopasses every month until someone eventually looks at my file, she was adviced us to call their number instead, which i know i wont get any answers either. I will be surprised if i get a response in January, The waiting continues...
